Lady Agbogu told the [News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)] http://nannews.ng on Thursday that the Enugu Ladies Open Golf Championship is designed to showcase and celebrate the incredible golfing talents of women from across Nigeria.

“The championship fosters camaraderie, skill development, and networking among female golfers nationwide,” she said.

The three-day Enugu Ladies Open Golf Championship, themed “Fostering A Sense Of Camaraderie With Golfing, began on Wednesday and will conclude on Saturday. The event has attracted no fewer than 50 female golfers from different states in Nigeria, demonstrating the growing interest and participation of women in golf.

Male Golfers as Guests in the Grand Finale

According to Agbogu, around 75 male golfers have registered as guest participants for the grand finale, reflecting the inclusive nature of golf as a sport for both genders.

“Golf is for everyone — male and female alike,” Agbogu emphasized. “We organize the Enugu Ladies Open Golf Championship not only to display skill and talent but also to build lasting relationships within the golfing community.”

4 African nations qualify for London 2026 Table Tennis Championships

Four African table tennis giants – Egypt, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Algeria – have officially secured qualification for the 2026 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships in London, United Kingdom.

Their qualification followed dominant performances at the ongoing 2025 ITTF Africa Championships in Tunis.

Egypt became the first men’s team to qualify after defeating Togo and Côte d’Ivoire, while Nigeria followed with 3-0 victories over Cameroon and South Africa in Group B. Oyo State has announced no gate fee for Falconets match against Rwanda under-20 team slated for Sept. 27 at Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke announced this on Monday in Ibadan while briefing newsmen on the preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualifier match.

Adegoke said a projected audience of about 20,000 Falconets’ fans were expected at the stadium during the match.

She said hosting the match at the Lekan Salami Stadium , Ibadan would make Ibadan “once again shine as a centre of culture and unity.

“Entry to the stadium for this historic match will be free for all spectators.”

According to her, the gesture by Gov Seyi Makinde is to give every football loving Nigerian, especially our people in Oyo State, the opportunity to be part ofo molly njomjnng lol luyoopbbhuiuy up the global event.

She, therefore, called on the people of the state to come out in their numbers to fill the stadium and cheer Falconets to victory.

“Let the world see the strength and hospitality of Oyo State reflected in the energy of our people.
