The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has urged Nigerians to join the party’s mission to build a better and more prosperous nation.
The call was contained in a New Year message issued on Thursday in Kano by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Paul Mumeh.
Mark acknowledged that 2025 was a difficult year for many Nigerians, citing rising costs of living, food prices, essential drugs, and transportation as major pressures on households.
He criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government over what he described as the imposition of stringent taxes, warning that such policies could deepen hardship and “renew hopelessness” among citizens.
The former Senate President said the ADC remains committed to patriotism, national service, and people-oriented governance, urging Nigerians to set aside doubts and rally behind the party’s vision.
According to him, 2025 also marked a defining political moment with the launch of Nigeria’s opposition coalition under the ADC on July 2.
“Since we announced the coalition, we have been encouraged by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of ordinary Nigerians across the length and breadth of our country,” Mark said.
He stressed that the ADC does not claim perfection but remains firmly guided by duty, conscience, and commitment to national renewal.
“We do not claim to be perfect, but do not doubt our sense of duty and our commitment to be on the good side of history,” he added.
Mark expressed confidence in the power of the Nigerian people to drive positive change, saying the ADC offers a platform for unity, accountability, and a renewed national direction ahead of 2026.
