The APC has expressed confidence of a sweeping victory in Lagos and beyond in the 2027 general election, unveiling grassroots mobilisation, campaigns and party unity as key strategies.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that it will secure victory across all elective positions in Lagos State and beyond in the 2027 general election.
The Chairman of the APC in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Ismail, said the party had mapped out strategies to strengthen its grassroots presence and translate its support into electoral victory.
Ismail spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Sunday, August 30, 2026, where he projected victories for the APC in elections into the Lagos State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and the Presidency.
“APC will win all the positions, from the House of Assembly to the House of Representatives, Senate and the presidency in Lagos State and beyond,” he said.
“All strategies to achieve this have been mapped out.”
The APC chieftain said the party would intensify grassroots mobilisation through aggressive publicity, voter enlightenment, door-to-door campaigns and increased engagement with party members across communities.
According to him, electoral success in 2027 would require sustained mobilisation at the ward, polling-unit and community levels.
“We will take our campaign to the doorsteps of the people through aggressive publicity, orientation and enlightenment of members, door-to-door campaigns and effective mobilisation of our party members,” he said.
Ismail also urged eligible party members and supporters to ensure they were properly registered as voters and able to participate in the electoral process.
His call came as the Independent National Electoral Commission’s 2025–2026 Continuous Voter Registration programme reached its scheduled conclusion. INEC’s current CVR portal indicates that the registration process is no longer active, although registered voters can still check their voter status and PVC-related information through the Commission’s official platforms.
The APC chairman urged party members to remain actively involved in voter mobilisation and ensure that their support for the party was reflected at the polls.
He also called for greater unity within the APC, particularly among members with grievances, insisting that internal differences should be resolved in the collective interest of the party.
“Unity must prevail in the APC. All aggrieved members should come together, resolve their differences and work for the overall interest and victory of the party,” he said.
Ismail expressed optimism about the chances of Dr Obafemi Hamzat, the APC’s Lagos State governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Hamzat, the current Deputy Governor of Lagos State, was publicly presented as the APC’s governorship candidate alongside his running mate, Damilola Sonayon-James, ahead of the 2027 election.
The Eredo APC chairman described Hamzat as an experienced politician with the capacity to build on the achievements of the current administration.
“I believe Hamzat will perform very well if elected as governor because he has the experience and capacity to consolidate the achievements of the present administration,” he said.
Ismail also expressed confidence in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the Federal Government’s policies and programmes were guided by a clear vision for the country’s future.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and hopeful, arguing that the impact of ongoing reforms would become increasingly evident.
The APC chieftain further charged party members across Lagos State to close ranks and intensify mobilisation ahead of the election.
“Our members must remain united and committed at the grassroots because victory will not come by words alone.
“We must work for it in every ward, polling unit and community,” he said.
Ismail called on APC members and supporters to turn out in large numbers during the 2027 general election, stressing that strong voter participation would be essential to converting the party’s grassroots support into electoral victory.
He added that party members must remain organised and committed to ensuring success for APC candidates at all levels.
