Kaduna Police have dismantled two suspected bandits’ hideouts in Makarfi Local Government Area during an intelligence-led clearance operation conducted with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service.

The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandits’ hideouts during an intelligence-led clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.

The operation was carried out by police operatives in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service and local security stakeholders following credible intelligence provided by members of the affected communities.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Kaduna on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

According to Hassan, the joint security operation commenced at about 8:00 a.m. and targeted suspected criminal enclaves around the Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending towards the boundary between Kaduna and Kano states.

The security operatives raided locations believed to have been used by bandits as operational bases and discovered two structures allegedly used to hold abducted victims.

The structures, located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in the Danguzuri area, were subsequently dismantled during the clearance operation.

Hassan said joint security patrols had continued across the affected communities to prevent criminal elements from regrouping and to maintain security in the area.

He added that normalcy had been restored following the operation.

The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended members of the communities for providing credible intelligence that supported the successful operation.

The police commissioner also praised the gallantry and professionalism of the security operatives involved in the clearance exercise.

Muhammad reaffirmed the Kaduna State Police Command’s determination to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.

He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist ongoing operations against criminal groups.

The latest operation highlights the continued reliance on intelligence gathering and collaboration between security agencies and local communities as Kaduna authorities intensify efforts to disrupt criminal networks and restore security in vulnerable areas.
