The publication, made in compliance with the Electoral Act, provides details of candidates contesting governorship seats across the 28 states where governorship elections are scheduled to hold in 2027. The particulars include candidates’ names, political parties, ages, educational qualifications and other information contained in their nomination documents.
Among the prominent names featured in reports on the INEC lists are former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, and former Minister of and Technology, Uche Nnaji. Former Adamawa governorship candidate Aisha Dahiru Binani is also among the prominent political figures associated with the newly published lists.
