Enugu Government resumes its Survey Revalidation and Digitisation Exercise, urging landowners and property stakeholders to submit documents before the August 2026 deadline.

The Enugu State Government has resumed its Continuous Survey Revalidation and Digitisation Exercise as part of efforts to transform the state’s land and survey records system into a fully digital and transparent framework.

The exercise, which will run until the end of August 2026, is being implemented under the ongoing Survey Records Digitisation Programme, according to the Enugu State Geographic Information System Service (ENGIS).

The programme is designed to improve the management, accessibility and reliability of land records while creating a more efficient system for land administration across the state.

The state government said the exercise is also part of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s broader development agenda, particularly efforts to strengthen digital governance and improve the ease of accessing public services.

The government has urged landowners, estate developers, surveyors and property owners to participate in the exercise by submitting their Survey Plans, Layout Approvals and other relevant land documents for verification and revalidation.

The documents will be used for digital identity creation and geospatial mapping, as well as the issuance of Digital Land Identity Cards.

According to the government, the digitisation process is intended to establish a reliable digital database of land and survey records that can help reduce errors and improve transparency in land administration.

The exercise is being conducted at five designated centres across Enugu State.

The centres are: Enugu State Geographic Information System Service (ENGIS) headquarters, No. 4 Chisomoi Ukpaka Close, Ebe-ano Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu; Nsukka Local Government Area Secretariat; Enugu State Ministry of Housing; Enugu State Housing Development Corporation; and Office of the Surveyor-General, Enugu.

The government called on eligible property owners and other stakeholders to take advantage of the exercise before the August deadline.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ENGIS, Chiwetalu Nwatu, announced the resumption of the exercise.

The state government reaffirmed its commitment to developing an accurate and reliable land administration system capable of improving the management and accessibility of property records.

The digitisation of survey records is expected to strengthen the identification and mapping of properties while providing a more organised system for managing land information.

The government said the exercise would contribute to its broader objective of creating a transparent and efficient land administration framework in Enugu State.
