Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has called for stronger security collaboration, intelligence sharing, and unity among agencies to tackle insecurity and protect Nigeria.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has called for stronger security cooperation, information sharing, and unity among security agencies to enhance national safety and stability.

Disu made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, on Tuesday in Abuja.

The IGP stressed the need for both agencies to work as a united force in addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges and ensuring lasting peace across the country.

According to him, security operatives often confront difficult battles in demanding environments, making mutual support and collaboration essential.

He noted that both the Nigeria Police Force and the NSCDC share the important responsibility of safeguarding lives and property, adding that their efforts must remain aligned for maximum effectiveness.

Disu explained that the visit was a deliberate move aimed at strengthening the existing partnership between the two organisations.

Responding, the NSCDC Commandant General reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to sustained security synergy with the police.

Audi said the NSCDC has maintained a long-standing working relationship with the Nigeria Police Force and remains ready to deepen cooperation in response to emerging threats.

He identified collaboration, cooperation, and coordination as the three key pillars required for conventional security agencies to succeed.

The NSCDC boss also urged Nigerians to play an active role in national security by gathering and sharing credible intelligence with security authorities.

The renewed commitment by both agencies is expected to improve inter-agency operations and boost efforts to combat insecurity nationwide.
