Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been declared winner of the Anambra 2025 governorship election, securing a second term in office with a commanding lead.
The declaration was made on Sunday by Prof. Edoba Omoregie, the Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Awka.

Announcing the final results, Omoregie said that Soludo polled 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Chief Nichols Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.
Other contenders included Mr. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who secured 37,753 votes, George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) with 10,576 votes, and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who polled 8,208 votes.
With this victory, Soludo continues his leadership under the APGA platform, pledging to consolidate ongoing reforms and deepen economic and infrastructural development in Anambra State.
Political analysts have described Soludo’s win as a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration and its performance over the past four years.
The INEC Returning Officer commended voters for their peaceful participation and the electoral officers for ensuring a credible process throughout the election.
