Day 2 of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nkanu West LGA election campaign unfolded with visits to four wards – Akpugo 1, Akpugo 5, Akpugo 3, and Obuoffia – where the campaign train was met with enthusiastic support from the local communities. The event drew a vibrant crowd, further highlighting the party’s message of unity and development.

At Akpugo Ward 1, MHR Nnolim Nnaji, representing Nkanu East and West federal constituency, emphasized the need for sustained progress in the area. “We must continue to build on the achievements so far made, and together, we will ensure a brighter future for all in Nkanu West,” he stated.

Chairmanship candidate John Ogbodo reaffirmed his vision for inclusive governance, telling supporters, “We are building a future where everyone in Nkanu West has a seat at the table, and no one is left behind. Together, we will drive the development that will transform our local government.” His words resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom expressed their optimism for the coming election.

Former Council Chairman Ekene Okenwa also spoke at Akpugo Ward 1, stressing the importance of local-driven progress. “Development begins with the people, and our role as leaders is to ensure that the people are always at the center of everything we do,” Okenwa remarked.

At Akpugo Ward 3, Afam Nnaji, a former Chairman of the LGA and former Federal Commissioner at the Federal Character Commission, offered his full support to the campaign. Speaking passionately, he said, “Our strength as a people lies in our unity, and I am here today to offer not just words, but tangible support for this campaign. We in Akpugo 3 are fully behind this vision for a better Nkanu West.” Nnaji also made a significant contribution on behalf of Akpugo Ward 3 to bolster the campaign.

Dr. Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo, helmsman at Enugu State Investment Promotion, spoke the press at event in Akpugo Ward 3, adding, “This election is about the future of our community. It is about ensuring that the progress governor Peter Mbah has made in the state continues here and that every part of Nkanu West benefits from growth and investment.”

At Obuoffia Ward, a PDP enthusiast Onyebuchi Nnamani encouraged the people to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP. “PDP is committed to ensuring that the next administration will be one that includes all, uplifts all, and serves all in Nkanu West,” he assured.

Other notable attendees included Iloabuchi Aniagu representing the LGA at the State House of Assembly and Campaign Director General Onyeka Onwe. Onwe, highlighting the essence of the campaign, added, “We are committed to bringing everyone on board, ensuring that no community is left out in the journey toward a greater Nkanu West.”

The energy and enthusiasm at each stop on Day 2 reinforced the PDP’s message of unity, inclusivity, and progress, as the campaign train continues its journey through the wards of Nkanu West.
