As he enters the third year of his second term in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, member representing Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development by distributing 28 motorcycles – one each to a beneficiary across the 28 political wards of the constituency. This symbolic gesture, carried out on Saturday, June 14, 2025, kickstarted a detailed mid-term stewardship report filled with infrastructure projects, welfare interventions, youth empowerment, and legislative impact.
Rt Honourable Nnaji
Speaking during the event, Hon. Nnaji described his time in the 10th National Assembly as “a journey of service and transformation.” According to him, “my mandate is not a trophy, it is a call to touch lives and bring the dividends of democracy home.”
Massive Infrastructure and Solar Revolution

Over the past two years, Rt. Hon. Nnaji has installed solar-powered street lights in strategic parts of Nkanu East and West LGAs, as well as other parts of Enugu State including Enugu South and Enugu North. Key locations like Amagunze, Ugbawka, Akpugo, Ozalla, and Agbani now glow at night, boosting security and commerce.
Solar-powered charging kiosks and fridges were introduced in Ugbawka and Ohuani/Onichagu to reduce the impact of fuel subsidy removal on small-scale traders.
“He is the light that brightens our nights,” said Mrs. Cordelia Okeke, a trader in Amagunze. “With the solar kiosks, we’ve revived our businesses.”
Rural Roads, Boreholes, and Bridges
The legislator’s development strides also cut across road construction – from the asphalt road between Nkwo Market and Eke Egboagu to ongoing projects in Nara, Amagunze, and Akpugo. Notably, the Nvene Bridge in Akegbe Ugwu is nearing completion, while the Ovu Bridge in Nkerefi is under active construction.
An intervention in the education sector, one of many of such.
Water access has seen a major boost with over 20 solar-powered boreholes drilled in communities like Odigene, Okwor, Umuatugbuoma, Obuoffia, Amodu, and Attakwu.
“I’ve lived 65 years without pipe-borne water in my village,” said Elder Ignatius Edeh from Umuatugbuoma. “This borehole is a miracle.”
Education and Youth Empowerment
In the education sector, the lawmaker facilitated the construction of six classroom blocks in Akpugo, Ugbawka, and Akegbe Ugwu, and secured ₦1.5 billion for the comprehensive upgrade of Ozalla High School. Hundreds of undergraduates across both LGAs have benefited from tuition support.
The ongoing “One Man, One Palm” agricultural initiative saw the distribution of 10,000 palm seedlings, 28 tricycles, fertilizers, and knapsack sprayers to encourage local farming.

“Young people now see agriculture as a business,” noted Ifeanyi Nwatu, a youth leader from Akpugo.
Power, Housing, and Humanitarian Outreach
Communities in Ozalla, Obe, Nomeh, Amurri, and Nara received transformers to boost electricity supply. Furthermore, in an unprecedented humanitarian gesture, Rt. Hon. Nnaji built and furnished over eight 2-bedroom bungalows for widows and the vulnerable in communities such as Ashishi Owoh, Amaechi Idodo, and Nkerefi.
“Rt. Hon. Nnaji is not just a politician; he is our brother and hope restorer,” said Mrs. Jacinta Nnaji, a beneficiary from Akegbe Ugwu.
Legislative Advocacy

At the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nnaji has sponsored and co-sponsored four bills and moved multiple motions geared towards infrastructural improvement, youth development, and strengthening maritime logistics, especially in his capacity as Chairman, House Committee on Ports and Harbours.
While specifics of the bills were not detailed in the report, constituency sources say they address local content in maritime operations, rural electrification policy reviews, and federal road funding formulas.
Widespread Commendation from Constituents
From traditional rulers to youth leaders, testimonials continue to pour in across the constituency.
“Rt. Hon. Nnaji is the most visible legislator we’ve ever had,” declared Chief Emma Nwankwo, a community elder in Nkanu East. “He doesn’t wait for campaign season to deliver.”
A humanitarian intervention, one of many of such.
In Nkanu West, Comrade Chinonso Ani, a student union leader, emphasized: “Our voice is heard in Abuja, and our lives are better because of his work.”
Conclusion: “Ogechi Ka Mma”
As Rt. Hon. Nnaji sums up his scorecard with the phrase “Ogechi ka mma” – meaning God’s time is the best – it is clear that his blend of compassionate representation and proactive development has earned him renewed respect among his people.
With year three now underway, expectations are high for continued progress. GMTNewsng
