APC has welcomed no fewer than 12,000 defectors from various political parties in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with Governor Uba Sani’s administration credited for attracting new supporters.
The APC has received no fewer than 12,000 members from various political parties who defected to the ruling party in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The defectors were formally welcomed on Sunday at Ramin Kura and Gure/Kahugu wards by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, who represented Governor Uba Sani.
The event attracted party leaders, government officials, community leaders and supporters from Ramin Kura, Lere and Gure/Kahugu wards.
Speaking at the event, Buba said Governor Uba Sani’s administration remains committed to justice, fairness and equal treatment for all residents of Kaduna State.
He stated that the government’s rural transformation agenda, particularly investments in roads, schools and other infrastructure, has continued to attract widespread support for the APC, irrespective of political affiliation.
The commissioner assured the new members that they would enjoy equal opportunities within the party and be fully integrated without discrimination.
Chairman of Lere Local Government Area, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmad, described the mass defections as a clear demonstration of growing public confidence in the APC-led administration.
He commended the defectors for what he described as a timely decision to join the ruling party.
Also addressing the gathering, the APC Chairman in Lere Local Government, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau, welcomed the new members and assured them of fair treatment.
He said the party remains committed to delivering good governance and addressing challenges inherited from previous administrations.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr. Nathan Azman and Mr. Rayyanu Dauda, both former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said they joined the APC because of Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive leadership style.
They praised the administration’s commitment to equitable development and improved welfare for citizens across the state.
The representatives, however, appealed to the Kaduna State Government to rehabilitate roads in their communities and complete a secondary school project that has remained abandoned for decades.
They also pledged their loyalty to the APC and promised to support the administration’s development agenda in Kaduna State.
