President Bola Tinubu urges Nigerians to uphold peace, unity, and compassion after Eid-el-Fitr prayers in Lagos.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and shared responsibility in building a stable nation.

Speaking after Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks, the President emphasised that national security and stability require the collective effort of all citizens.

He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, noting that safeguarding the country is a shared duty.

Tinubu stressed that the lessons of Ramadan and Lent – patience, tolerance, charity, and love for humanity – should not end with the fasting season.

He encouraged citizens to continue supporting the vulnerable and promoting good neighbourliness.

The President highlighted the importance of religious harmony, noting that while modes of worship may differ, Nigerians share common spiritual values.

He called for greater appreciation of the country’s diversity as a strength for national development.

Tinubu also described his recent visit to the United Kingdom, where he was received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing global relevance.

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to peace and national unity, while thanking the President for his support.

In his sermon, the Grand Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of discipline, piety, and brotherhood beyond Ramadan.

He cautioned against unrest, calling for calmness and wisdom amid global tensions.
