Makinde has appointed six zonal coordinators to oversee APM campaign activities across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has appointed six zonal coordinators to oversee the party’s campaign activities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Abuja by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications for the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The appointed coordinators are Dr. Eddy Olafeso for the South-West, Mr Habu Muazu for the North-East and Sen. Ibrahim Tsauri for the North-West.

Others are Dr. Bode Ojomo for the North-Central, Mr Akadiaha Ebitu for the South-South and Sir Obi Okechukwu for the South-East.

According to the campaign organisation, the coordinators were selected to work alongside the National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC) and the national leadership of the APM.

Their responsibilities include mobilising citizens and coordinating campaign activities across the six geopolitical zones as the party prepares for the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

“The zonal coordinators bring their wealth of experience, capacity and political connections in working with the National Campaign Management Committee and the national leadership of the Party to mobilise Nigerians and drive a vigorous, issue-based and people-oriented campaign,” the organisation said.

The appointments form part of the wider campaign structure being assembled by the Makinde-Daura organisation. Earlier, the campaign also announced the appointment of former Minister of State for Aviation Felix Hassan Hyat as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee, alongside other senior officials.

The campaign organisation has been conducting consultations and town hall meetings across the six geopolitical zones as part of its preparations for the 2027 election. The engagements have focused on issues including economic development, security, governance and national stability.

Makinde unveiled his “Reset Nigeria Agenda” in September, outlining proposed approaches to the economy, education, security and governance as part of his campaign platform.

The governor expressed appreciation for what the campaign described as growing public support and said additional appointments would be announced as the campaign structure expands.

He also urged supporters to remain focused as the APM continues its preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

The Makinde-Daura campaign organisation said its activities would continue to centre on its “Reset Nigeria” message and issue-based engagement with citizens and stakeholders.
