Senator Osita Ngwu urges Nigerians to renew their faith in Nigeria, embrace unity and make collective efforts toward national progress.
Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has urged Nigerians to strengthen national unity and make collective efforts toward building a more prosperous country.
Ngwu made the call on Thursday in Enugu in a message to his constituents to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The senator described the anniversary as an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s journey since independence and renew their commitment to building a nation that provides growth and prosperity for present and future generations.
According to him, Nigeria’s strength lies in the determination, courage and collective efforts of its citizens.
He urged Nigerians to rise above their differences, embrace unity and work together to address the challenges confronting the country.
“Our challenges may be many, but together, we can overcome them.
“Our future may demand sacrifice, but with unity, patriotism and purposeful leadership, we can build the Nigeria we all desire,” he said.
Ngwu also reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective representation for the people of Enugu West Senatorial District.
He said he had continued to support initiatives focused on human capital development, economic empowerment, infrastructure, youth development and creating opportunities for constituents.
The National Assembly has previously highlighted Ngwu’s investment in education, including a scholarship and bursary programme through which more than N250 million was disbursed to students from Enugu West Senatorial District in March 2026.
The senator also reaffirmed his support for the development agenda of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, saying the administration’s initiatives were aimed at advancing governance, economic growth and sustainable development in the state.
Ngwu urged Nigerians to renew their faith in the country and strengthen their commitment to building a society where justice, peace, opportunity and prosperity are accessible to all.
He also called on citizens to place national interest above personal and sectional interests and to contribute positively to national development.
The senator expressed appreciation to his constituents for their continued trust and support, assuring them of his commitment to serving with dedication, humility and responsibility.
“I wish Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and pray for God’s blessings upon Nigeria, Enugu State and the people of Enugu West Senatorial District,” Ngwu said.
