Permanent Secretaries have been appointed and redeployed across Kano State’s civil service as the government approved 19 new appointments and reassigned 14 serving officials to strengthen governance and improve service delivery.
KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new Permanent Secretaries and redeployed 14 serving Permanent Secretaries across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen the state civil service and enhance public service delivery.
The Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, announced the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman.
According to the statement, the appointments represent a call to greater responsibility, selfless service and commitment to the people of Kano State.
The government directed all affected Permanent Secretaries to work closely with their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies to advance the administration’s development agenda and improve service delivery across the state.
The appointees were also urged to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, professionalism, integrity and accountability while upholding the highest standards of the public service.
Shehu-Maimota expressed confidence in the ability of the newly appointed and redeployed Permanent Secretaries to justify the trust placed in them by promoting excellence, transparency and innovation in the Kano State Civil Service.
The statement further noted that the appointments and redeployments take immediate effect, with all handing-over and taking-over processes expected to be completed on or before August 12, 2026.
