Reflecting on his lifelong acquaintance with the deceased cleric—dating back to his time as Governor of Lagos State and earlier in life—President Tinubu highlighted the profound impact Imam Gbajabiamila had in shaping the spiritual and social fabric of Lagos State and the broader Nigerian nation.
The President commended the late scholar’s vast understanding of the Holy Quran and his unique ability to practically apply Islamic principles to foster peace, resolve communal disputes, and advocate for youth education and personal development.
Beyond his role as a spiritual teacher and counselor, President Tinubu emphasized Imam Gbajabiamila’s extraordinary legacy as an champion of interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
