MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited has confirmed the full power restoration to the Gariki Injection Substation after technical teams successfully repaired a major indoor breaker fault affecting multiple feeders in Enugu.
In a major relief to residents and business owners within the Enugu metropolis, MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has officially confirmed the successful restoration of electricity supply to the Gariki Injection Substation.
According to an executive statement released by the distribution company on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, grid power was fully re-established on Monday evening, July 20, at approximately 8:30 p.m., following intensive technical repairs carried out by engineering crews to isolate and repair a critical fault involving the facility’s indoor 11kV circuit breaker.
The unexpected power outage, which originated on Friday, July 17, 2026, temporarily disrupted commercial activities and residential power supply across key districts served by both the Army 11kV and Gariki 11kV distribution feeders.
With the technical glitch now fully resolved, normal distribution services have resumed across all impacted communities.
