Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has paid an emotional tribute to his late elder brother, Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as a distinguished entrepreneur, philanthropist and pillar of the Ogunwusi family whose legacy will endure.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his elder brother, Adetunji Ogunwusi, paying glowing tribute to his remarkable life of entrepreneurship, philanthropy and service to humanity.

In a condolence message issued by the palace’s Senior Media Officer, Sodiq Lawal, the monarch described the deceased as a distinguished entrepreneur and compassionate philanthropist whose contributions positively impacted countless lives.

According to the Ooni, Adetunji Ogunwusi was a worthy son of Ile-Ife whose life embodied humility, integrity, entrepreneurial excellence and an unwavering commitment to humanity.

The traditional ruler said the passing of his elder brother had created an irreplaceable vacuum within the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife community.

The Ooni noted that the deceased earned a lasting reputation for excellence, innovation and visionary leadership, becoming one of Nigeria’s respected entrepreneurs through dedication, hard work and integrity.

He also highlighted Adetunji Ogunwusi’s role as Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings, where he demonstrated exceptional business leadership and corporate excellence.

Beyond his business achievements, the monarch described his late brother as a compassionate philanthropist who quietly transformed lives through generosity, selfless service, wise counsel and unwavering support for those around him.

The Ooni further described the deceased as a trusted confidant, dependable family pillar and a man whose honour, dignity and compassion would continue to inspire family members, friends and associates.

He added that Adetunji Ogunwusi’s influence extended beyond the corporate world, noting that he consistently upheld the values of the Ojaja Royal Family through exemplary conduct, humility and dedication to service.

Praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, the Ooni urged family members, friends and the people of Ile-Ife to find strength in the enduring legacy and impactful life left behind by the deceased.

The palace disclosed that Adetunji Ogunwusi was born on December 8, 1967, into the family of Pa John Oluropo Ogunwusi of the illustrious Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife.
