Formally presented by a high-level committee chaired by Professor Kingsley Moghalu, the comprehensive roadmap outlines a unified framework for socioeconomic growth and national engagement.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has formally received the official report of the Igbo Charter of Strategic Engagement for National Development at its National Secretariat in Enugu.

The major developmental breakthrough was disclosed via an official statement issued on Thursday, May 28, 2026, by the apex socio-cultural organization’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu.

The document is designed to serve as a comprehensive, long-term socio-economic and political advisory framework to guide the interaction of the Igbo nation within the broader Nigerian macroeconomic space.

The strategic report was meticulously compiled by an independent committee of technocrats chaired by former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and renowned political economist, Professor Kingsley Moghalu.

Other prominent members of the drafting committee who witnessed the presentation included the First Deputy Chairman, His Royal Majesty Igwe Lawrence Agubuzo, and the committee’s Secretary, Chief Enyinnaya Onokala.

The historical blueprint was formally accepted by the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Azuta Mbata, alongside key members of the Global Executive Council during an official high-level session.

While presenting the findings, Professor Moghalu expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the trust reposed in his committee to carry out the task.

He characterized the assignment as a historic endeavor that successfully captures the true essence of the Igbo worldview (Onye aghana nwanne ya) and pairs it with modern economic realities.

Beyond its core recommendations, Moghalu revealed that the report features a unique historical compendium titled “Igbo Builders,” which meticulously chronicles the outstanding contributions of 125 late Igbo icons whose legacies in science, commerce, literature, and public service advanced both Ndigbo and the federal republic.

“This historic assignment is deeply reflective of the Igbo worldview within the Nigerian context. The accompanying ‘Igbo Builders’ compendium documents the legacies of 125 late leaders whose structural contributions laid the foundation for regional advancement and national engagement,” Professor Kingsley Moghalu remarked.

Receiving the documents, the President-General, Chief Azuta Mbata, highly commended the committee for delivering a patriotic, visionary, and high-quality report. He emphasized that the recommendations arrived at an important time in Nigeria’s ongoing economic transitions, where intentional sub-national development models are required to build resilient communities.

Mbata assured the committee that the Global Executive Council would study the document closely and implement its actionable blueprints to maximize regional investments, strengthen cultural diplomacy, and foster constructive national engagement.
