Enugu Rangers defeated Ingas FC 2-1 in the final of the 2026 Enugu State President Federation’s Cup to emerge champions and qualify for the national stage.

Enugu Rangers have emerged champions of the 2026 Enugu State President Federation’s Cup after defeating Ingas FC 2-1 in the final.

The match was played on April 26, 2026, at the Rangers training pitch in Enugu, where both sides battled intensely for the title.

Rangers, who fielded mostly fringe players, took the lead in the 17th minute through Mich Itodo after converting a long throw-in opportunity.

Following the opener, Rangers maintained control of the game but were repeatedly denied additional goals by solid defending and impressive goalkeeping from Ingas FC.

Ingas FC improved late in the first half and pushed for an equaliser, but the Rangers goalkeeper, aided by heavy rainfall conditions, kept them out.

On resumption of the second half in the rain-soaked encounter, both teams continued to contest possession and search for goals.

Rangers doubled their advantage in the 50th minute when Igwe Nweke scored from a goalmouth scramble.

Just two minutes later, Ingas FC reduced the deficit after converting a penalty kick in the 52nd minute.

Speaking after the match, Ingas coach and former Rangers star, Innocent Obiekwu, congratulated Rangers on their victory.

He also praised his players for their performance in the final.

Rangers General Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, described the success as a double victory for the club.

Meanwhile, Enugu State Football Association Chairman, Tony Ugwu, congratulated both teams and urged them to represent the state well in the national competition.

By reaching the final, both Rangers and Ingas FC have qualified to represent Enugu State in the 2026 President Federation’s Cup national finals.
