ThankGod Ofoelue, 48, the publisher and Editor‑in‑Chief of Jungle Journalist Media Limited, has died after a brief illness in Benin, Edo State. His elder brother, Mazi Obozuluike “Zulu” Ofoelue, confirmed the passing and described him as a veteran journalist who practised his profession with deep passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to truth.

In an obituary, Zulu wrote: “On behalf of the Ofoelue Family of Ezi Nde Ukpabi, Ugbo Village, Arochukwu, I announce with deep sorrow the sudden and untimely passing of my beloved younger brother, Mazi Onukwube TG Ofoelue (ThankGod), Founder/CEO of Jungle Journalist Media Limited. Our family is devastated by the loss of a most resourceful and loving brother — a man of courage, vision, and dedication. His absence leaves a painful void in our hearts and in the media community he so passionately served.”

ThankGod Ofoelue was taken to a hospital over the weekend after complaining of weakness. He initially stabilised but returned on Monday evening, 23 February 2026, where he could not survive. Burial arrangements will be announced later.

As the founder of Jungle Journalist, Ofoelue built the online news platform into a widely read outlet covering breaking news, politics, community issues, and entertainment in Nigeria. His work positioned him among a new generation of media entrepreneurs who amplified grassroots voices and delivered timely, independent reporting.

Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues and peers in the media industry, praising Ofoelue’s commitment to journalism and his contributions to Nigeria’s digital news space. His legacy as a passionate storyteller and media innovator leaves a lasting impact on the community he served.
