Tinubu Congratulates Damilola Ogunbiyi, Only Nigerian on Forbes Sustainability Leaders 2025 List
Abuja, September 23, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ms. Damilola Ogunbiyi, Chief Executive Officer and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), on being the only Nigerian named on the Forbes Sustainability Leaders 2025 list.
The prestigious list, which celebrates 50 global leaders driving climate action and advancing sustainable solutions, recognized Ogunbiyi’s groundbreaking contributions to the global energy transition.
President Tinubu praised Ogunbiyi for her outstanding leadership in championing equitable access to energy, particularly for underprivileged communities across the Global South. He highlighted her role in spearheading the UN-led Energy Compacts and the Mission 300 partnership, which aims to provide electricity access to 300 million Africans by 2030.
“This recognition speaks not only to Ms. Ogunbiyi’s personal excellence but also to Nigeria’s growing role in shaping sustainable development worldwide,” the President stated.
