Enugu, Nigeria – In a strategic move to enhance visibility and engagement for the upcoming South East Business and Investment Summit (SEBIS), the Organizing Committee of SEBIS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Afia Television, a media and production company with a focus on broadcast, publicity, and creative content. This partnership aims to amplify the reach of the summit, which is scheduled to take place from December 11 to 13, 2024, in Enugu.
The MOU signing ceremony was held at the Afia Television headquarters in Enugu, marking a significant step in SEBIS’s commitment to promoting business growth and investment opportunities within the South East region. Speaking at the event, Dr. Ifedi Okwenna, the Executive Secretary of SEBIS, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, describing it as “a major leap forward” toward SEBIS’s mission of establishing the South East as a thriving economic hub.
“This MOU with Afia Television aligns with our objective of building strategic alliances that will drive economic transformation in the South East,” Dr. Okwenna stated. He emphasized that the collaboration would play a crucial role in delivering SEBIS’s vision to both local and global audiences, making the summit a landmark event in the region’s economic landscape.
Chief Ben Oranusi, Chairman of the SEBIS Local Organising Committee (LOC), also highlighted the importance of this collaboration. He noted that Afia Television’s involvement would enable the organizing committee to disseminate timely information to all stakeholders, ensuring that the summit reaches a wider audience. “This partnership with Afia Television will allow us to communicate directly with stakeholders and the public, bringing our message closer to home,” Oranusi said.

Nnamdi, Afia Television’s General Manager pledged the station’s full support in providing maximum visibility for the summit. He assured attendees that Afia would utilize its diverse platforms to cover the event comprehensively, both before and after the summit. Afia’s wide reach on DSTV Channel 254, GOTV Channel 17, and YouTube will be instrumental in attracting a broad viewership and engaging with the South East business community.

Several prominent members of the SEBIS organising committee were present to witness the signing ceremony, including Sir Emeka Mbagha, Chairman of the Mobilisation Committee, Chief Lambert Oparah, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Dr. Dan Ochi, Director-General of the South East Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Mines and Agriculture. Their presence underscored the committee’s united support for the MOU, which they believe will enhance the summit’s success.
Chief Chu Achebe, another esteemed member of the LOC, remarked on the importance of leveraging media partnerships to foster economic growth in the South East.
