Chairman is peace loving, man of integrity

Nkanu West Local Government Council Chairman Chief Nwabueze Nnamani has described the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC scheme as a veritable tool for national integration and unity.

Chief Nnamani who made the assertion when the Nkanu West Local Government Inspector of NYSC, Mrs. Ifeoma Anike led Corps Liaison Officers, CLOs, to his office, noted that the scheme has been providing young men and women the opportunity to have hands-on experience after graduation as a bridge between school and normal life, as well as an avenue to better understand parts of the country other than where they come from.

Earlier in her remarks, Mrs. Ifeoma Anike, the Local Government NYSC Inspector, while introducing members of her team to the Council Chairman, thanked him for the nondiscriminatory relationship between the Local Government Council under his leadership and all the MDAs both state and federal, and said they were in his office to present a parting gift by the outgoing CLO, Mr. Luke Noah, and familiarization, especially to introduce the incoming CLO, Benjamin Nimaa.

The outgoing Corps Liaison Officer, Mr. Noah said he was thrilled to present an art work to Chief Nnamani because of his good nature and willingness to help others especially strangers and the needy.

He added that for 8 months he served in the LGA, he had keenly observed the Council Chairman with admiration, how he cheerfully interacted with both workers in the Council and visitors. He said such attribute was rare among people in leadership position as he had taken some time to engage with his co-CLOs and non could give a good testimony of their Council Boss.

Speaking further, Noah said “watching from my office, I found it amazing that the Chairman is always cheerful each time he is leaving office for home. This means that he has peace of mind. It made me to think about presenting the artwork to him.”

Describing the painting, 🖌️ Luke Noah said the blue (colour) “signifies peace of mind while the ink used is pen to show the Chairman as a man of integrity and strength.”

The secretary to Nkanu West Local Government Council, ESV Edison Ozo Ede, was in the meeting.
