Speaking further, the Forum’s leader Prof. Nnaji said their quest is based on “equity, justice, precedence and fairness, and also rely on the ultimate justiceability of the state governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who is known for his kindness and belief in equity.

“Nkanu East is a local government that spans the length of Nkerefi, heading into Nomeh, Uburu and Aninri, extending all the way to Ihuokpara, going down into Ebonyi State, Akpawfu areas and down into the large expanse of land behind Akpugo, down to Oruku, Umuode and Amankanu.

“More than any other local government in Enugu State, we deserve the governorship slot to energize and stimulate development as has been done by others in the past.

“It has been done in Nkanu West, Enugu North and Enugu South.

“As expected, in any emerging democracy, political opportunities should provide material and infrastructural development, provide human development and provide sense of belonging”, Prof. Nnaji said.
