Enugu APC 2027 Campaign Council has been unveiled, chaired by Governor Peter Mbah, with 51 directorates and prominent political figures named to key roles.
The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the Enugu APC 2027 Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, with Governor Peter Mbah as chairman of the 51-directorate structure.
The Deputy Governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai; APC Deputy National Chairman (South); Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Ugwu; and state party chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, will serve as vice chairmen.
The list, signed by Chukwunweike and the party’s secretary, Hon. Chukwudi Nnadozie, names Chief Charlie Mbah as Director-General and Dr. Eric Oluedo as Secretary-General.
Deacon Okey Ogbodo, Dr. Dan Shere and Hon. S.K.E. Udeh-Okoye will serve as deputy directors-general for Enugu East, Enugu North and Enugu West, respectively.
Barr. Steve Oruruo will head public communications and serve as campaign spokesperson, supported by Dr. Austin Okolie as co-spokesperson and Dr. Malachy Agbo as secretary.
Mazi Uche Anichukwu and Dan Nwomeh will lead the new media and strategic communication, and mainstream media directorates, respectively.
Other key appointments include Barr. Victor Udeh as head of administration; Dr. Ben Nwoye and Arc. Uche Nwatu as director and co-director of fundraising; and retired Vice Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla as head of security, with retired Inspector-General of Police Ogbonna Onovo as secretary.
The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology will oversee coordination of federal and state government appointees, with Prof. Chidiebere Onyia as secretary. Former Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh, will lead inter-party affairs.
Senators Osita Ngwu, Ikeje Asogwa and Kelvin Chukwu will coordinate the campaign in Enugu West, Enugu North and Enugu East, respectively.
Prominent political figures, including former governors Jim Nwobodo, Sullivan Chime, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Okwesilieze Nwodo, alongside Prof. Barth Nnaji, Prince Arthur Eze, Frank Nweke Jr. and Madueke, were named to advisory roles.
In a joint statement, Chukwunweike and Nnadozie said the broad composition of the council reflected the party’s commitment to inclusive participation and grassroots engagement.
They said the Enugu APC 2027 Campaign Council structure was built on “the conviction that every community, ward, local government area, professional group, support organisation, youth body, women’s group, elder, party faithful and person of goodwill must be seen, heard and meaningfully engaged.”
“Appointment into the campaign structure is therefore not merely an honour; it is a call to duty, accountability and measurable contribution,” they stated.
The council will be inaugurated at the International Conference Centre, Enugu, on Tuesday (today), October 27, 2026. Members have been directed to be seated before 3 p.m.
