MEDL explains the drop in power supply in Enugu State, blaming reduced electricity generation, low system frequency and TCN load shedding.

Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has attributed the current reduction in MEDL power supply across Enugu State to a drop in electricity generation, which has triggered low system frequency and load shedding by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

In a public notice issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, MEDL’s Head of Communications, Emeka Ezeh, said the development had affected the company’s energy allocation, limiting its ability to meet daily service-level commitments.

The company assured customers that it was monitoring the situation and would distribute the available electricity fairly across its network.

MEDL expressed hope that normal supply would soon be restored, while apologising for the inconvenience and thanking customers for their patience and understanding.
