A Jos Magistrates’ Court in Plateau State has sentenced a 22-year-old trader, Mustapha Musa, to one year’s imprisonment for threatening to kill his colleague following an argument.
Musa was convicted after pleading guilty to charges of criminal intimidation and threat to life. The presiding magistrate, Mrs Irene Pati, sentenced him to one year in prison, with an option of a ₦70,000 fine.
Reviewing the facts of the case, prosecution counsel Ijuptil Thiawur told the court that the complainant, Charibu Sani, reported the incident at the ‘C’ Division Police Station on August 28.
Thiawur said Musa went to Sani’s shop and threatened to kill him after an argument.
The prosecution said the offence contravened Section 275 of the Plateau Penal Code Law. The court subsequently sentenced Musa following his guilty plea.
