President Bola Tinubu has assured the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Gulf nations of Nigeria’s solidarity amid rising tensions linked to the US/Israel-Iran conflict.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed Nigeria’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other Gulf nations affected during the height of tensions arising from the US/Israel conflict with Iran.

The President stated that Nigeria would continue to stand for peace, stability, and diplomatic engagement in the face of global unrest.

Tinubu spoke at the State House in Abuja while receiving Letters of Credence from seven ambassadors and two high commissioners, including envoys from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

According to the President, Nigeria extends full solidarity to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan following recent attacks in the region.

He commended the affected countries for what he described as resilience and restraint during a difficult period.

Tinubu said the world urgently needs tranquillity, peace, and mutual respect among nations.

The President also told the envoys that Nigeria remains committed to working with international partners to promote peace within Africa and across the wider global community.

He described the presentation of Letters of Credence as an important step in strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and the represented nations.

Tinubu said Nigeria values its longstanding friendships and remains dedicated to deepening cooperation for mutual prosperity and progress.

He added that Nigeria’s foreign policy would continue to guide active international engagement for shared benefits.

The President noted that his administration is implementing economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a globally competitive destination for investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.

He invited the diplomats to see Nigeria as a strategic partner open to mutually beneficial business collaboration.

Tinubu also stressed Nigeria’s commitment to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), constitutional order, regional economic integration, and the stabilisation of the Sahel.

He said those priorities require stronger partnerships and international solidarity to tackle security and development challenges.

Addressing wider global concerns, the President listed climate change, energy transition, counter-terrorism, and financial inequality among the pressing crises facing the international community.

He said Nigeria stands ready to work bilaterally and multilaterally for a fairer and more secure global order.

Tinubu assured the diplomats of his administration’s full cooperation and encouraged them to travel beyond Abuja to experience Nigeria’s cultural diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, and hospitality.

Speaking on behalf of the envoys, the Ambassador of Qatar thanked the President and pledged efforts to strengthen relations with Nigeria during their respective assignments.
