President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reconstituted the 16-member governing council of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, appointing the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as chairman.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reconstituted the 16-member governing council of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, in a move aimed at strengthening governance and leadership within the institution.

As part of the new appointments, the President named the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, as chairman of the council.

Other statutory members of the council include the chairman of the Police Service Commission, the Inspector-General of Police, and one representative each from the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Finance, and Federal Ministry of Justice.

President Tinubu also appointed six members to represent Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

The appointees are Babagana Zannah Adam (DCP Rtd.) representing the North East, Emmanuel Torkuma Manger for the North Central, and Maigari Abati Dikko (DIG Rtd.) for the North West.

Others are Dubem A. Obaze (KSM) representing the South East, Ajibogere Toyin for the South West, and Udom Udo Ekpoudom (DIG Rtd.) for the South South.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, the Provost, and the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of training will serve as ex officio members of the council.

The registrar of the academy will function as secretary to the council.

The reconstitution of the council is expected to enhance oversight, policy direction, and institutional development at the Nigeria Police Academy, one of the country’s key law enforcement training institutions.
