Partnership between Sofema Aviation Services and Eastwing Youth Foundation will deliver more than 525 EASA-compliant aviation programmes aimed at building technical capacity and global-standard skills in Nigeria.
ENUGU, Nigeria – A transformative partnership has been launched between Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) and the Eastwing Youth Foundation to expand access to aviation education through more than 525 internationally recognised training programmes.
The initiative, announced in collaboration with the Eastwing Aviation Institute, is aimed at strengthening aviation capacity in Nigeria by giving students, instructors and industry professionals access to high-level technical training aligned with global standards.
The collaboration builds on the success of the Southeast Aviation Summit and Eastwing Youth Competition, which highlighted the urgent need for stronger investment in aviation education and technical skill development across Africa.
Under the new partnership, the Eastwing Aviation Institute (EAI) will work with Sofema Aviation Services and Sofema Online (SOL) to deliver a broad portfolio of specialised online courses.

The programmes are structured to meet European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards and will cover major industry areas including Safety Management Systems (SMS), Continuing Airworthiness (CAMO), Aviation Quality Assurance, Maintenance Planning, Compliance, Leadership and Aviation Management.
The Eastwing Youth Foundation said the agreement is designed to close the competency gap and ensure that young Nigerian professionals acquire globally relevant skills needed to compete in the highly regulated international aviation market.
Chief Executive Officer of Sofema Aviation Services, Steve Bentley FRAeS, described the initiative as an investment in the future of African aviation safety and professionalism.
“At Sofema, our mission has always been to democratise access to world-class regulatory training. By partnering with the Eastwing Youth Foundation, we are empowering the next generation of African aviation leaders with the tools to excel within an EASA-compliant environment,” he said.
He added that Sofema would support the programme with a €10,000 training bursary to reduce financial barriers for participants.
Since its establishment in 2008, Sofema Aviation Services has partnered with more than 3,500 aviation organisations globally, issued over 700,000 certificates of completion and developed a large library of technical and regulatory courses.
Founder of the Eastwing Youth Foundation, Dr. Christopher Edeh, described the partnership as a transformative milestone for the aviation sector.
He said the programme was intentionally created to bridge the gap between local training standards and the demanding requirements of the global aviation industry.
According to him, the collaboration will help create a sustainable pipeline of skilled aviation professionals for Nigeria and Africa in the years ahead.
