The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mr Sani Daura as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Protocol Matters.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Mr Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister on Public Communications and Social Media.
According to Olayinka, Mr. Daura is a highly experienced civil servant with more than three decades of service in the Protocol Department of the FCT Administration.
He explained that Daura, who rose to the position of Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, is scheduled to retire from the civil service on January 24, 2026.
Olayinka noted that the appointment would take effect immediately after Daura’s retirement, allowing the minister to retain his wealth of institutional knowledge and expertise in protocol management.
The move is seen as part of Wike’s efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure professionalism in protocol and official engagements within the FCT.
