The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 15 ships carrying petroleum products, food items and other commodities are expected to arrive at the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos between Friday and Wednesday.
The authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position released on Friday, October 23, 2026, providing an update on vessel arrivals and cargo-handling activities at the two major Nigerian seaports.
According to the NPA, seven of the incoming ships will carry containers containing various goods, while the remaining eight will transport bulk wheat, bulk salt, general cargo, trucks, diesel base oil and aviation fuel.
The NPA also reported that five ships, including tankers, had arrived at the ports and were awaiting berthing.
The vessels are carrying containers, transformers, petrol and general cargo, according to the authority’s shipping update.
Their arrival adds to ongoing maritime activities at Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, which serve as major gateways for imports and other commercial shipments into Nigeria.
The authority further disclosed that 16 ships were currently discharging cargoes at the two Lagos ports.
The goods being unloaded include bulk wheat, base oil, bulk fertiliser, trucks, general cargo, fresh fish, containers, bulk sugar, steel and petrol.
The latest shipping position highlights continuing cargo-handling operations at the ports, with incoming vessels expected to deliver a mix of petroleum products, agricultural commodities, industrial materials and other essential goods.
