The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has congratulated his Enugu State counterpart, Dr Peter Mbah, on the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Law degree by the University of East London in the United Kingdom.
The University of East London, Mbah’s alma mater, conferred the Doctor of Law Degree, honoris causa, on the Enugu State governor in recognition of his contributions to governance and public service.
Otti described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Mbah’s leadership and commitment to the development of Enugu State.
“Your Excellency, this honour from the University of East London is a testament to the impact of your administration in Enugu State,” Otti said.
The University of East London, during the conferment, highlighted Mbah’s investment in education and his philosophy that education is the cornerstone of human progress and the foundation upon which the future is built.
Governor Otti said the recognition reflected the confidence reposed in Mbah and the progress being recorded in Enugu State under his administration.
“As leaders in the South East, we share a common vision to rebuild our region and make it a hub of commerce, industry and innovation in Nigeria. Your commitment to good governance is encouraging,” Otti said.
The Abia governor said the honour should serve as further motivation for Mbah to continue serving the people of Enugu State and contributing to national development.
He wished the Enugu State governor continued wisdom, strength and success as he pilots the affairs of the state.
Mbah was conferred with the honorary Doctor of Law degree by the University of East London during a graduation ceremony at the institution’s Docklands Campus in the United Kingdom.
The honour adds to the recognition of Mbah’s career spanning law, business and public service, as well as his current role as Governor of Enugu State.
