Residents of Nara Wards 1 and 2 defied heavy rainfall to receive APC chairmanship candidate Mike Ogbuekwe and pledge support for APC candidates in the forthcoming Nkanu East council election.
Residents of Nara Wards 1 and 2 in Nkanu East Local Government Area defied heavy rainfall to turn out in large numbers for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Chief Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, popularly known as Mmiri Ọma.
The campaign engagement attracted community leaders, party stakeholders, women, youths and other supporters, who gathered to receive Ogbuekwe and the Nkanu East APC campaign team.
Former Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Bishop Ralph Nwoye, joined the campaign entourage alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
The people commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his administration’s development projects across Enugu State and expressed support for continuity in governance.
They also pledged their support for Ogbuekwe and other APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections.
Speaking during the campaign, Ogbuekwe said his vision was to replicate Governor Mbah’s development framework at the grassroots level and accelerate development across Nkanu East.
He identified infrastructure, agriculture, human capital development and security as key priorities of his proposed administration.
Ogbuekwe thanked the people of Nara Wards 1 and 2 for their warm reception and confidence in his candidacy.
According to him, their large turnout despite the heavy rainfall reflected their enthusiasm for the campaign and commitment to building a more developed and people-centred Nkanu East Local Government Area.
The APC chairmanship candidate assured the people that his administration, if elected, would focus on inclusive development and bring governance closer to communities across Nkanu East.
