Engr. Michael Chikosolu Ogbuekwe congratulates Governor Peter Mbah on his appointment as APC South-East Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the 2027 presidential election.
Enugu — The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area, Engr. Michael Chikosolu Ogbuekwe, has congratulated Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his appointment as the party’s Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the South-East ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by Ogbuekwe, he described the appointment as a recognition of Governor Mbah’s leadership capacity, administrative competence and growing influence within the APC’s national political structure. He said the decision demonstrated the confidence reposed in the Enugu governor by the national leadership of the party.
“Governor Mbah’s appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to service and growing influence on the national political stage,” Ogbuekwe said, adding that the responsibility would provide the governor an opportunity to further contribute to the party’s political efforts across the South-East.
According to him, Mbah’s emergence as the APC’s South-East campaign coordinator also reflects the impact of his administration’s development initiatives in Enugu State, particularly in infrastructure renewal, economic expansion, improved public services and investment promotion. “His administration’s transformation agenda has continued to position Enugu as a strategic hub in Nigeria’s development landscape,” he stated.
He noted that the new assignment would require considerable organisational and political coordination, given the strategic importance of the five South-Eastern states — Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo and Abia — to the APC’s 2027 presidential campaign. “This appointment places before His Excellency an important opportunity to deploy his wealth of experience, organisational capacity and political influence towards strengthening the party’s structure and engagement across the region,” he said.
He expressed confidence that Governor Mbah would bring his administrative experience and leadership skills to bear on the assignment, while working with APC leaders, stakeholders and members across the region. “I am confident that Governor Mbah will discharge this responsibility with the same diligence, strategic thinking and commitment that have characterised his public service,” Ogbuekwe added.
Mbah’s appointment comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election and seeks to strengthen its political structures and support base across the country, including the South-East. Ogbuekwe said the governor’s new role could contribute to deeper engagement between the party and stakeholders in the region, while wishing him success in the national assignment.
While expressing his highest regards and support for Governor Mbah, Ogbuekwe prayed for continued wisdom, strength and guidance for the governor as he undertakes the responsibility. “I wish Your Excellency every success in this important assignment and assure you of my continued support as you serve Enugu State and contribute to national development,” he said.
