Yari’s constituency office has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing former Zamfara Governor Abdul’aziz Yari as Director-General of the President’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the choice as timely and well deserved.
The constituency office of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing the former Zamfara State governor as Director-General of his presidential campaign for the 2027 general elections.
The Coordinator of Yari’s constituency office, Alhaji Sha’ayau Sarkinfawa, gave the commendation while speaking to journalists in Gusau, Zamfara State, on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Sarkinfawa described Yari’s appointment as well deserved, citing his extensive political experience, grassroots influence and long-standing involvement in the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yari, who currently represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, served as governor of Zamfara State from 2011 to 2019. He previously represented Talata Mafara/Anka/Maradun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
According to Sarkinfawa, Yari has occupied several political positions at both state and national levels, making him well positioned to coordinate the President’s campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“Senator Yari is capable of leading Tinubu’s campaign considering his political value and experience,” he said.
He noted that Yari began his political career as the State Secretary of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) before subsequently becoming the party’s state chairman.
Sarkinfawa also highlighted Yari’s experience as a former member of the House of Representatives and two-term governor of Zamfara State.
He further cited Yari’s previous role as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, describing the experience as an added advantage as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
The constituency office coordinator expressed confidence that Yari would deploy his political experience and nationwide networks to strengthen the APC’s campaign and improve its prospects at the polls.
He also thanked President Tinubu for selecting Yari to lead the presidential campaign, saying the appointment was welcomed by the people of Zamfara West Senatorial District.
Yari’s appointment comes as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 presidential contest, with the party expected to intensify grassroots mobilisation and nationwide campaign structures in the months ahead.
