The APC has unveiled its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, naming Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary as the ruling party begins its campaign mobilisation ahead of the January election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 presidential election, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.
The expanded campaign council, released by the Presidency on Saturday, comprises 223 members drawn from across the party and government, with responsibilities spanning mobilisation, election planning, media and strategic communication, legal affairs, finance, grassroots engagement and other campaign operations.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Vice Chairman I. APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairman II.
Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State and serving senator, will coordinate the council’s overall campaign operations as Director-General, while Uzodimma will serve as Secretary.
APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman have been appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The campaign structure places President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima at the centre of the APC’s 2027 election campaign, with the party’s national chairman and senior political figures occupying key coordinating positions.
The council’s advisory body includes former APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, former Imo State Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha, former APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.

The council also appointed five spokespersons, led by Dele Alake. Other spokespersons are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
President Tinubu charged members of the campaign council to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 election.
He also urged leaders of the various directorates to reach out to party members who were not formally included in the published list but could contribute to the campaign.
Tinubu said his administration had delivered on its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on a path of economic progress, urging campaign officials to communicate the government’s achievements to voters.
He also urged the campaign team to defeat political forces seeking to return the country to what he described as a backward path.
The constitution of the campaign council formally sets in motion the APC’s broader mobilisation machinery for the 2027 presidential contest, with the party expected to deploy its national, zonal and grassroots structures in the months ahead.
