The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, with emergency responders working to contain the situation.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The confirmation was made in a statement issued on Sunday by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Henry Agbebire.

According to Agbebire, the authority’s Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service was immediately deployed to the scene and is actively working to contain the fire.

He assured the public that there were no reported casualties from the incident.

“FAAN’s Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service is responding to the incident at the moment and working diligently to contain the situation. There is no report of casualties,” the statement said.

The authority added that further updates would be provided as more information becomes available.

FAAN did not disclose the cause of the fire or specify when the incident began. Emergency response efforts are ongoing as authorities continue to assess the situation.
