An unidentified man’s body has been discovered inside an uncompleted building in the Albishiri area of Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, with police launching an investigation into the incident.
Residents reportedly found the body hanging inside the abandoned structure on Thursday morning. The community leader, Dangana Abubakar, said the discovery marked the second time a body had been found in an uncompleted building within the area.
He explained that the deceased had not yet been identified and appealed to residents to remain calm while security agencies investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the police received a report at about 7:00 a.m. on Thursday.
According to Abiodun, preliminary observations suggest the case may involve self-inflicted death, although investigations are still ongoing.
He added that the Chanchaga Local Government Social Welfare Department had been notified to take the necessary action while the police continue their investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
