Governor Peter Mbah approves the recruitment of over 6,500 academic and administrative staff across Enugu State to power 267 Smart Green Schools.

Governor Peter Mbah has approved the immediate recruitment of over 6,500 qualified academic, technical, and administrative personnel to staff public primary and secondary schools across Enugu State.

The massive employment exercise specifically targets the state’s flagship project of 267 Smart Green Schools, designed to modernize basic education infrastructure and deliver technology-driven learning to young citizens.

The official directive was announced in an executive statement issued by the Executive Chairman of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Professor Hyginus Okibe Banko.

According to the board, candidate qualifications for professional teaching roles range from a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) to a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant academic disciplines paired with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), as well as the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) for specialized subject categories.

To uphold high professional standards within the state’s educational ecosystem, ENSUBEB emphasized that active registration—or verified proof of ongoing registration—with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) remains mandatory for all teaching positions.

Candidates applying with Degree or HND qualifications must additionally present a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge or Exemption Certificate. Given the digital focus of the Smart Green School initiative, practical proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools is required across all job cadres.

In addition to graduate-level positions, the recruitment portal includes operational and support vacancies open to holders of Ordinary National Diplomas (OND) and the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE/WASSCE).

Interested applicants are instructed to submit a formal application letter, a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae, certified copies of academic and professional credentials, a birth certificate or sworn declaration of age, and active contact details.

Applicants can submit hard copies directly to the Office of the Executive Chairman at the ENSUBEB Headquarters in Enugu. Alternatively, electronic submissions must be consolidated into a single PDF document and sent to the board’s official email address. The deadline for all application submissions is set for Friday, August 14, 2026.
