The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed the details of the ongoing probe in a formal press statement issued on Wednesday in Dutse.
According to the police spokesperson, the tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after the deceased, who had checked into the hospitality facility in the company of a 20-year-old female companion, unexpectedly developed a severe medical emergency shortly after requesting a meal.
Following a prompt distress call from the hotel management, police operatives attached to the Yalwawa Divisional Headquarters responded swiftly to the scene and evacuated the victim to the General Hospital in Dutse for urgent medical intervention.
However, upon arrival at the health facility, the man was examined and certified dead by the attending medical personnel. In the aftermath, police detectives immediately cordoned off and secured the hotel room to conduct a detailed preliminary forensic examination.
During the sweep, investigators recovered various personal effects, leftover food items, beverages, and a suspected sexual enhancement substance, all of which were taken into custody as exhibits for forensic analysis to establish the precise cause of death.
Following the formal medical certification of death and the completion of necessary administrative procedures, the body of the deceased was released to his family for burial in accordance with their religious traditions and explicit request.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old lady present at the scene during the medical emergency is currently cooperating with homicide detectives, providing critical statements to help retrace the exact sequence of events leading up to the tragic incident.
