Nkanu West APC steps up grassroots mobilisation as Council Chairman John Ogbodo urges residents to support Governor Peter Mbah’s development agenda ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The Nkanu West APC on Saturday intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections as the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, called on party members to take the message of development and continuity to every community across the council.
Speaking during the Nkanu West APC local government stakeholders’ meeting, Ogbodo said the party’s campaign should be driven by the visible impact of governance rather than mere political promises, insisting that residents have continued to experience the dividends of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah‘s administration in infrastructure, public services and economic development.
According to him, the achievements recorded by the state government, alongside ongoing developmental initiatives within Nkanu West APC communities, have strengthened public confidence and positioned the party favourably ahead of the polls.
He urged party leaders, ward executives and supporters to return to their various communities to engage residents and highlight projects that have positively affected livelihoods, describing grassroots mobilisation as critical to consolidating the party’s support base.
Also addressing the gathering, the APC Local Government Chairman, Mr. Chinedu Nnaji, stressed the need for unity and discipline among members, saying the Nkanu West APC would only achieve its electoral objectives through collective commitment and sustained grassroots engagement.
He commended Governor Mbah’s performance across key sectors, maintaining that the administration’s development agenda has continued to earn the confidence of many residents across Enugu State.
The APC State Woman Leader, Mrs. Esther Edeh, encouraged party faithful to remain resolute in supporting the Governor’s vision, noting that the ongoing transformation in infrastructure and public service delivery has continued to improve the lives of citizens.
Similarly, the APC candidate for the Enugu State House of Assembly, Nkanu West Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnamani, applauded Governor Mbah for what he described as transformational leadership. He also praised Council Chairman John Ogbodo for replicating the Governor’s people-oriented approach to governance at the grassroots, saying the council’s developmental initiatives have further strengthened public trust.
Nnamani urged members of the Nkanu West APC to remain united and focused as campaigns gather momentum, expressing confidence that the party would record a strong outing in the elections.
The meeting drew a large turnout of stakeholders, including former council chairmen, former deputy chairmen, ward leaders and other party faithful, reflecting renewed mobilisation within the local government.
Participants concluded the meeting with a commitment to intensify grassroots campaigns, expand voter engagement across all wards and sustain support for candidates of the Nkanu West APC, expressing confidence that the combined developmental efforts of Governor Peter Mbah and the local council administration would continue to resonate with residents.
