LAGOS – The Nigerian Ports Authority has confirmed that 46 vessels laden with petroleum products, food items, and various essential goods are scheduled to arrive at Lagos ports between April 28 and May 8, 2026. This influx of maritime traffic is expected to significantly bolster the supply chain across Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Ports.
According to the authority’s Daily Shipping Position, the incoming fleet is diverse in its cargo composition. Fourteen of the expected vessels are carrying containers loaded with various goods, while the remaining 32 ships are set to berth with a wide array of commodities, including fresh fish, general cargo, aviation fuel, crude oil, base oil, diesel, gasoline, petrol, and bulk wheat.
In addition to the scheduled arrivals, the ports are currently managing significant ongoing activity. The Nigerian Ports Authority noted that 11 ships and tanker vessels have already arrived at the three ports and are currently waiting for their turn to berth.
These waiting vessels are carrying a mix of general cargo, bulk urea, aviation fuel, gasoline, bulk fertilizer, and crude oil.
Simultaneously, operations are in full swing across the terminals, with 21 ships currently engaged in the discharge of their contents. These vessels are offloading a variety of essential materials, including bulk urea, containers, bulk gas, gasoline, petrol, bulk gypsum, bulk fertilizer, and crude oil, at the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa, and Tincan Island Ports.
This coordinated effort underscores the ongoing activity within the Lagos maritime corridor to ensure the steady flow of goods and energy supplies into the Nigerian economy.
