Peaceland University honours 18-year-old Software Engineering student after his AI platform won N2.7 million top prize at Enugu State Tech Festival.
Peaceland University has honoured its Software Engineering student, Godspower Ojini, for emerging overall winner of the N2.7 million prize at the Enugu State Tech Festival.
The festival, held from February 24 to February 27, brought together youth innovators from across the state.
Ojini, an 18-year-old 300-level student, and his team clinched the top position after developing an artificial intelligence platform designed to automate tasks for individuals and businesses.
The project stood out among several entries, earning the team both recognition and a financial reward.
Speaking during a celebration in Enugu, the Vice-Chancellor, Leonard Ilechukwu, expressed pride in the student’s achievement, describing it as validation of the institution’s standards.
He said the success reflected the university’s commitment to quality training and dedication to student development.
Ilechukwu added that the achievement served as both encouragement and challenge to other students to emulate Ojini’s discipline and commitment.
Also speaking, the Pro-Chancellor, Felix Ugwuozor, said the victory did not come as a surprise, noting that the student had previously won the same award.
He explained that the institution prioritised practical learning and provided resources and a conducive environment for innovation.
In his remarks, Ojini attributed his success to dedication, mentorship and continuous learning, noting that his AI-powered solution could handle various tasks efficiently. He said the team planned to scale the project into a globally accessible product.
Ojini also advised fellow students to remain consistent, share their work and continue building innovative solutions.
