President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday assured Nigerians of greater prosperity as his administration sustains sweeping economic reforms designed to empower citizens and strengthen inclusive growth across the country.
Speaking during a one-day official visit to Yola, Adamawa State, the President said ongoing macroeconomic reforms were already yielding measurable results in key sectors, including education, healthcare and infrastructure.
Tinubu praised Governor Umaru Fintiri for effectively utilising increased federal allocations to execute impactful projects that directly improve livelihoods. He described the governor’s performance as a reflection of people-focused governance and national unity.
“We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must feed ourselves and strengthen our economic base,” the President said, noting that collaboration between the federal and state governments had significantly enhanced development outcomes.
During the visit, Tinubu commissioned several major projects, including an eight-lane road with an underpass to ease traffic congestion and boost commerce, as well as a modern High Court complex aimed at strengthening the administration of justice. He also highlighted investments in model schools across the state as critical to long-term prosperity.
The President urged state governments to intensify efforts in poverty reduction, particularly by improving access to quality education for children. He also commended traditional and religious leaders for fostering peace and unity amid economic reforms.
Tinubu further praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for what he described as strong and courageous leadership in tackling insecurity, expressing confidence that banditry and terrorism would be defeated under his guidance.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for visiting the state to commission projects, detailing investments including 21 model schools costing N24.8 billion, major road expansions valued at N15.6 billion, a remodelled High Court Complex worth N5.5 billion, and a new Government House office complex costing N6.3 billion.
Five governors from neighbouring states, ministers and other senior government officials attended the event, underscoring regional support for the administration’s prosperity-driven reforms.
