The Police Command in Kano State has arrested three suspects over an alleged fake alert transaction used to purchase a Mercedes Benz GLE motor vehicle valued at ₦75 million.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Tijjani, Jamilu Auwal and Mohammed Nura Dauda, were arrested on January 28, 2026, at Kabuga Quarters in Kano.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday in Kano by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

According to Kiyawa, the suspects allegedly purchased the vehicle from Gwarinpa, Abuja, using a fake bank alert sent by one Ibrahim Yahaya, who is currently at large.

“The suspects allegedly bought the Mercedes Benz GLE for ₦75 million using a fake alert sent by Ibrahim Yahaya, who is presently on the run,” the statement said.

He added that the vehicle had been recovered and handed over to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives involved in the arrest for their dedication and professionalism.

Bakori urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agencies to aid effective crime prevention and response.
