The Nigerian Army has achieved significant breakthroughs in the last 24 hours, rescuing 21 kidnapped victims, disrupting armed attacks, and uncovering illegal crude oil activities during intensified nationwide military operations. A senior military source confirmed that troops across all theatres have maintained aggressive action against terrorists and criminal groups.

In the North-West, troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA repelled attacks in Zamfara and Kebbi states. Soldiers from 1 Brigade engaged armed groups that stormed Baigasuwa community in Maradun, rescuing residents despite four civilians sustaining gunshot injuries. In Kebbi, terrorists launched an assault on a Nigeria Immigration Service checkpoint in Bagudo, killing three personnel and torching vehicles before fleeing. The troops later rescued five persons and an infant along the Unashi–Doka road in Danko Wasagu after the captors abandoned them on sighting the military.

In the North-Central zone, troops under Operation MESA rescued four kidnapped victims during a confrontation with insurgents at Konan Leda in Lokoja. Eleven additional captives later escaped as a result of the pressure from the assault. Security forces also recovered two motorcycles, a radio set, and rescued another victim in the Kwali axis of the Federal Capital Territory.

In the South-South, the Joint Task Force under Operation Delta Safe sustained its crackdown on crude oil theft. Troops and other security agencies discovered 350 bags of stolen crude oil – estimated at 10,500 litres – in Eleme, Rivers State. Another team on patrol in Bonny recovered hoses, a Yamaha engine, and several jerricans after oil thieves abandoned the equipment and fled.

Other operational theatres, including formations under Operation HADIN KAI in the North-East and the latest phase of Desert Sanity IV, reported no major incidents as clearance and security operations continued without interruption.

Military authorities reaffirmed that troops remain on high alert across all regions to deny terrorists, bandits, and criminal groups any freedom of movement or operational space.
