PDP Expulsion dominated proceedings at the 2025 National Convention in Ibadan on Saturday as the Peoples Democratic Party confirmed the removal of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu and several others for alleged anti party violations.

The PDP Expulsion decision was announced during the convention, marking one of the most significant disciplinary actions in the party’s recent history. Those affected include Kamaldeen Ajibade SAN, Austin Iwachukwu, Umar Bature, Muhammad AbduRahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Abraham Ama, George Turnan and Dan Obi.

The motion for the Expulsion was moved by Chief Bode George and received unanimous support from delegates present at the convention. George stressed that all party members must strictly adhere to Section 40 of the PDP Constitution as amended.

He emphasized that political parties remain voluntary organisations, and anyone who chooses to belong must comply with established rules. According to him, the individuals affected by the Expulsion engaged in serious breaches, including holding parallel congresses, canvassing votes for rival parties and sponsoring litigations against the PDP.

George added that the conduct and public posture of Wike and the others had inflicted reputational damage on the party, making the PDP Expulsion necessary for restoring internal discipline and credibility.
