With the August 16, 2025 bye-election to fill the vacant Anambra South Senatorial seat fast approaching, respected political leader and technocrat, Ben Etiaba, has thrown his full support behind Hon. Sir Azuka Okwuosa, describing him as a man of uncommon political insight and the ideal candidate to represent the zone at the National Assembly.
Addressing newsmen recently, Etiaba praised Okwuosa’s wealth of experience, political pedigree, and deep understanding of governance. “Azuka Okwuosa’s political pedigree is unrivalled. If elected Senator, he will not only be a voice of reason in the National Assembly but a bridge-builder who will serve for the many, not the few,” he declared.
He described Okwuosa as a man of humility, sound judgment, and uncommon political sagacity. “Leadership demands humility, experience, and a deep understanding of the people’s challenges. Azuka Okwuosa is the embodiment of these traits – humility personified and a man of great political gravitas,” Etiaba said.
According to him, Okwuosa’s years in public service, both in executive and advisory roles, have prepared him to stand tall in the Senate and effectively champion the cause of Anambra South. “Azuka has the wisdom to make solid legislative choices for the betterment of our people. His voice will echo loudly for Anambra South and Ndigbo,” he added.
Other stakeholders are also speaking up in support of the APC hopeful. Prof. Gabriel Onyekwelu, a political economist, remarked, “Sir Azuka Okwuosa’s experience as a former commissioner and grassroots strategist positions him well to represent Anambra South with distinction. He understands the inner workings of government.”
Dr. Nkechi Nwankwo, a governance and policy expert, noted, “Okwuosa’s calm but firm leadership style, backed by decades of public service, is exactly what Anambra South needs in the Senate. His commitment to inclusive development and Igbo advancement is unmistakable.”
Chief Ikedi Umeadi, a former lawmaker, hailed Etiaba’s support as a major boost. “Ben Etiaba is a man of integrity and far-reaching influence. His endorsement of Sir Azuka speaks volumes. It’s a mark of statesmanship and dedication to the larger Igbo vision,” he said.
